FSA & HSA FAQs

What are Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)?

FSAs and HSAs are employee benefit plans offered by some employers in the United States that allow eligible employees to set aside pretax dollars from their paycheck into a dedicated account to pay for eligible healthcare-related expenses. These expenses can include things like doctor visits, prescriptions, and certain skincare products. Always check your plan for specifics.

What products are eligible for FSA and HSA reimbursement?

Broad spectrum sunscreens with SPF 15 or higher and acne treatments at Origins US may be eligible for FSA/HSA reimbursement. You can shop the selection here. - Sunscreen: Broad spectrum sunscreens with SPF 15 or higher are generally eligible for reimbursement through your FSA/HSA, including lotions, moisturizers, lip balms, powders, and more. - Acne Treatments: Products that treat acne are generally eligible for reimbursement through your FSA/HSA, including acne-targeted facial cleansers, spot treatments, body washes, and more. The list of approved FSA and HSA items is maintained by the IRS and can change at any time. Reimbursement for any FSA/HSA purchase is at the discretion of your benefits provider, so always check with your provider for guidance on product eligibility.

How do I pay for my FSA/HSA products?

At this time, Origins US does not accept FSA/HSA debit cards as a form of payment. However, you can still use your FSA or HSA to pay for eligible products! Here's how: 1. Purchase with a credit card or debit card. Pay for your FSA/HSA-eligible items with a credit card or debit card in store or online at Origins US.com. 2. Submit a claim for reimbursement. Submit your receipt and any other required documents to your benefits provider for reimbursement. Remember to check with your provider to understand what documentation is required for your claim. For most FSA/HSA plans, the information needed is usually included in your order confirmation email or the emailed in-store receipt (tip: be sure to request an emailed receipt at checkout). 3. Get reimbursed! File a claim with your FSA or HSA provider using the information you gathered. They will reimburse you for eligible purchases.

Do I need a prescription to purchase products with FSA/HSA dollars?

In most cases, you do not need a prescription to purchase eligible over-the-counter healthcare products with your FSA/HSA dollars. Items like sunscreens and acne treatments can typically be bought without a prescription. However, some FSA/HSA plans require a letter of medical necessity for specific skincare products, so please check with your benefits provider to confirm your purchase meets their requirements.

Will I get Origins US rewards on FSA/HSA-eligible products?

Yes. When you buy FSA/HSA-eligible products, you still earn Origins US rewards just like you do with other purchases.

What happens if I need to return an FSA/HSA-eligible product?

If you need to return an FSA/HSA-eligible product, you should follow our standard return policy. Once your return is approved, the funds will be refunded to your original payment method. If you have filed for reimbursement for your purchase of an FSA/HSA-eligible product, you should contact your benefits provider to determine what additional steps are needed.
