Rice Starch
This ancient Japanese beauty secret has the
power to lift skin-dulling debris. Long ago,
Japanese women bathed in water left over from
rinsing White Rice. Afterwards they noticed

She has a PhD in Plant Physiology & Molecular Biology.
We asked her for the inside scoop on Modern Friction™.
Q: What ius microdermabrasion?
A: Microdermabrasion is a skin resurfacing procedure
often performed by dermatologists. A tiny jet-stream of
abrasive aluminum crystals is gentlty steered across the
skin's surface to break apart surface layers of dead cells.
The result is a fresher, healthier, rejuvenated complexion
with improved surface quality. However, there is a
downside. This aggressive exfoliation procedure can leave
skin blotchy, discolored, red, inflamed and flaky; forcing
patients to stay at home afterwards. Following the
procedure, it is imperative that moisturiser be applied
frequently and sunblock must be used daily for at least
three weeks. Modern Friction™ gently delivers the
benefits of this age-erasing exfoliation at home in one
simple step without harsh, irritating chemicals.
Q: What makes Modern Friction™ such an effective exfoliator?
A: To formulate Modern Friction™ we use a very sticky
Rice Starch which helps to eliminate the superficial dead
skin layers that cause dullness. To prove its efficacy, we
tested Modern Friction™ against clinical microdermabrasion,
and when we compared results, we saw an instant increase in skin radiance - just what you'd
expect from microdermabrasion. However, with Modern
Friction™, there was virtually no redness or irritation, and
when we asked our panelists whether they would consider
using Modern Friction™ instead of microdermabrasion and
almost all of them said they would.
We tested Modern Friction
™
on a panel of
women who underwent clinical
microdermabrasion on a regular basis:
94% Saw smoother, more radiant skin and would consider using Modern
Friction™ instead of clinical microdermabrasion.
Did you know?
Fact and Friction. Facial skin resurfacing dates back to ancient Egyptian times where abrasive alabaster
particles were used to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. Over the millennia, other radical methods
have included the use of acid, fire, and sandpaper-like materials to peel, exfoliate, and rejuvenate the skin.
In 1985, the technique of Microdermabrasion was developed in Italy to help heal the skin of burn victims.
Microdermabrasion is like a sandblasting for your skin. It's use was widespread in Europe spas
prior to its introduction and popularity in the United States. Today. millions of micro-dermabrasions
are performed by dermatologists.
