The seeds for the Origins brand were first planted in the mid 1980s when a small group of visionary beauty professionals joined together to explore the importance of the green movement and the role cosmetics will need to play in the 21st century.
When Origins was launched in August 1990 in select specialty and department stores throughout the US, we became the first major cosmetic company to embrace the needs of the consumer interested in high-performance natural skincare that is powered by nature and proven by science. We were also the first prestige cosmetic brand to develop earth and animal friendly practices and packaging.
